I saw a vision before my sight
Cold as it was that winters night,
I still felt within me a burning light.
I thought I saw you near a vine,
This sent shivers down my spine
I have longed to see you for so long,
My eyes must have been seeing all wrong.
I searched and searched but you were not there
And then I realized my greatest fear
You only ever existed in my mind
Yet I could never leave you behind.
It dawned on me that my heart dream't you up
Into this being that would never fill my cup
And so this is all of my own doing
This loss I feel without even knowing...
